Squeezing Lemon Juice On Hot Food May Harm Human Body - Experts Reveal

Lemon's health advantages don't require an introduction. It contains a variety of vital nutrients that support weight loss, good skin and digestive health, and immunity. For this reason, you'll see people incorporating lemon in a variety of ways into their diets. Some people enjoy drinking lemon water in the morning, while others squeeze lemon juice over their salad. Then there are those who eat a wedge of lemon with every meal. For instance, we enjoy serving dal with rice or roti after squeezing lemon juice on top of it. We all agree that it quickly improves the flavors, but did you know that adding lemon juice to any hot food may not be good for our bodies? We were heard.

We spoke with various well-known dietitians from around India to better understand the idea and the effects of lemon juice when added to any hot cuisine. Rupali Datta, a nutrition specialist, claims "If you squeeze the juice right before you eat, you will still receive the vitamin C because it does not immediately breakdown. It is the same even in boiling water. In actuality, prolonged contact to oxygen causes the fruit's vitamin content to deteriorate."

Dr. Namita Nadar, head nutritionist at Fortis Hospital Noida, added to this by saying, "Any citrus fruit's vitamin C level is extremely heat sensitive. Therefore, if a citrus fruit element is placed into hot, steaming food, the chemical is fully eliminated. Vitamin C will have a detrimental impact as a result of this." Dr. Nadar continued, "Additionally, vitamin C raises our body's immunity and aids in the battle against infection. Inflammation in the body's ESI levels can be reduced if it is combined with hot food. Lemon should therefore be utilized in recipes that are either warm or cold."

This raises the question of how to properly take use of lemon's health benefits. Do not worry; we have the solution for you. Juhi Kapoor, a nutritionist, posted a tip on how to incorporate lemon juice into your everyday meals on her Instagram. She cautioned in a video clip that if you use lemon in food preparation, try to keep the meal away from the flame and wait for it to cool down a bit before adding the juice.
